Father Christmas for nurseries and reception classes
Long before Father Christmas turns up at the nursery Christmas party, every child in the room can have a phone call with him of their very own. He asks their name, listens to their wishes and hears about the songs they’re practising for the nativity – one child at a time.

How it works
In November or December, a practitioner or teacher opens the link on a tablet or phone – nothing to install. Children then take turns to talk one by one in a quiet corner, for about 2 minutes each. That way Father Christmas can hear every child clearly, and nobody gets talked over.
Only the time actually spent talking is counted. The group package gives 40 minutes of calls, enough for roughly 20 children, and minutes can be spread over several days if that suits your timetable better.
Why it works well in nurseries and schools
Excitement that builds. Children feel they already ‘know’ Father Christmas, which makes his visit to the party even more special. Every child included. Quieter children get their own moment, rather than being lost in a crowd at the grotto. Language and confidence. Saying their name, answering a question and telling a grown-up about their week is great speaking practice for little ones.
It suits nursery rooms, pre-schools and reception classes alike, and works well alongside Christmas jumper day, card-making or rehearsals for the nativity. You might do the calls the week before the party, so the children have something to chatter about as they make their cards and decorations.
Safe and simple
Father Christmas is an AI character for festive fun. A responsible adult gives consent before the first call and stays with the children throughout. He never asks for an address, phone number or school, and he never promises specific presents, so there are no awkward conversations at home afterwards.
All you need is a tablet, phone or computer with internet and a microphone. A cosy corner away from the noise of the main room works best.
Price
